On Thursday, June 11, the ADBC hosted a virtual meeting with Representative Ami Bera (D-CA) to discuss healthcare policy in the midst of the global COVID-19 pandemic.
Representative Bera has been representing California’s 7th congressional district in the House of Representatives since 2013. Rep. Bera is currently member of the House Foreign Affair Committee, Chair of the Asia, the Pacific and Nonproliferation Subcommittee and member of the House Science, Space and Technology Committee.
The Ambassador of Denmark to the US, Lone Wisborg, welcomed more than 20 participants who had tuned in to discuss the situation.
Hereafter, Rep. Bera provided his perspective on how the situation have and will affect the policies where issues such as reforms to the US healthcare system, AMR, international cooperation on research and development, mental illness, and much more were assessed and discussed.
After Rep. Bera’s remarks, members were offered to ask questions where the congressman elaborated on some of the main issues.
