Foreign Military Sales workshop

On the 11th of February, Terma A/S (Denmark’s largest defense company) in collaboration with the Embassy of Denmark held a workshop on Foreign Military Sales (FMS). The workshop took place at the Embassy of Denmark in Washington D.C. Terma is a member of the American-Danish Business Council (ADBC).

Attending from Terma were 13 representatives, among them: Larry Hungerford, President & CEO at Terma North America (TNA), Nils Greir, Vice President in Strategic Marketing at TNA and Jim Moore Vice President in Business Development, Central Checkout Systems (CCS) at TNA. Representatives from the U.S. State Department and The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) – which is part of the United States Department of Defense (DoD) – were also present. Moreover, representatives from the US Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard attended to provide the workshop with a more “hands on” perspective in their respective areas.

The purpose of the workshop was to provide the Danish Embassy and Danish industry representatives with a more profound understanding of FMS to the United States. The purpose of the workshop was not to discuss concrete projects, but instead to provide Terma and Danish defense companies with a better understanding of FMS in general, and discuss ideas as to what the Danish administration and Danish companies can do to improve the positioning of Danish technology in an FMS context.

Terma and Lockheed Martin to partner on critical infrastructure protection system

Terma announced that they are partnering with Lockheed Martin to field Terma’s Critical Infrastructure Protection System (T.react CIP) at the Lockheed Martin Mission Systems and Training (MST) facility in Owego, New York. The T.react CIP is the most advanced intelligent wide area perimeter detection security solution to date, and is designed to provide maximum levels of security, situational awareness and control of external environment, regardless of size. As an integral part of the Lockheed Martin facilities existing security system, the T.react CIP has been installed to provide Lockheed Martin with an enhanced surveillance system.

Thomas Jensen, Vice President, Security Applications explains: “As all activity is monitored in real time, in all weather conditions, and at any time of day or night from a central level, security staff can quickly and accurately determine whether activity in the monitored area gives rise to taking precautions.”

Based on this experience, T. react CIP is developed for surveillance and protection of critical infrastructure such as airports, ports, plants, and manufacturing areas, water supply systems, power plants, military facilities and installations.
