The Danish National Constitutional Day June 6th celebration and reception at the Embassy of Denmark.
The Embassy of Denmark hosted a Constitution day celebration at the ambassador’s residence. Among the crowd were colleagues, friends and dignitaries from other embassies. The mood was light and with the sun out the Danish Ambassador Lars Lose decided to grab his electric guitar and join the band in playing a rendition of the Danish and American national anthems respectfully, needless to say it was a crowd pleaser!
The reception was held in celebration of the Danish constitution of 1849, which formed the basis for Danish society and values. The values can primarily be seen in the Danish society through our high freedom of expression, freedom of assembly and democratic respect for others.
Our values are additionally also expressed through our international commitment, by promoting democratic rights, gender equality and a green way of living around the world. The ties between Denmark and the U.S are continually being strengthened through strategic alliances as well as the exponentially increasing trade between our two countries.
