DONG Energy Enters Massachusetts with Offshore Wind Farm

During the export promotional tour, DONG Energy seized the opportunity to mark Denmark as a flagship for renewable energy in the U.S. Bay State Wind is a utility scale offshore wind farm outside the coast of Massachusetts, where DONG Energy plans to build a farm with an installed capacity of up to 1,000 MW, which is enough to power over half a million households.

The event was hosted by DONG Energy  in order to celebrate the new Massachusetts Energy Bill and DONG Energy’s presence in Massachusetts.

Thomas Brostrøm, The General Manager of DONG Energy Wind Power in North America, opened the event by welcoming everyone, including HRH The Crown Prince, Troels Lund Poulsen, The Danish Minister for Business and Growth, and Matthew A. Beaton, Secretary, Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs.

In their remarks, Secretary Beaton and Minister Poulsen touched upon the new energy bill as a game-changer for offshore wind in the U.S., and in the end HRH The Crown Prince received a framed and signed energy bill.
