U.S. and Danish industry have been partners in addressing national security concerns for decades. The two industries have worked together not only on a number of industrial cooperation arrangements in Denmark, but also on technology cooperation programs in the U.S. and other international markets. The Danish defense industry is a high-tech business exporting 80 percent of goods and services. An increased focus on manufacturing innovation, in particular the maritime sector, will create new opportunities for partnerships with U.S. industry.
Commander Senior Grade Per Hesselberg from the Danish Acquisition and Logistics Organization talked about the Danish frigate program and the goal of exporting Danish knowledge and expertise in this area to the US.
Mr. Keith Webster, Director, International Cooperation, Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics said that the United States cannot continue to succeed without contributions from partners like Denmark.
The seminar concluded with a lunch in the Ambassador’s Residence.
