On May 9th, 2015 all 28 European Union Embassies and the EU Delegation to the United States opened their doors to the public for the annual EU Open House.
This year the Embassy of Denmark had the pleasure of welcoming a record number of visitors to the Embassy. Almost 5,900 visitors climbed the Whitehaven Street hill during the day to learn more about Denmark.
Whether it was the great weather or the opportunity to learn about the American-Danish trade relationship, Denmark’s international military operations and meeting Danish army veterans, tasting “Flødeboller” and Danish cheese during the residence tour, building a mini-windmill, building with LEGO or meeting a Danish Viking, we are sure all our visitors left the Embassy grounds smiling and in a good mood. Moreover, when the visitors were asked to name their favorite Danish company brand, many were surprised to find that LEGO and Pandora are indeed Danish.
Visitors also had the opportunity to get to know more about some of the American-Danish Business Council company members. Systematic, NORDEN and Novo Nordisk were represented at this unique event and used this opportunity to promote their company to the public.
The Embassy of Denmark partnered with VisitDenmark and Blue Star Families – over 1200USD was contributed to Blue Star Families from the cake sale. Moreover, visitors enjoyed a performance by the Silver Star Gymnastics Team.
