In lieu of the completion of the Select USA summit held June 19-21, the Embassy of Denmark hosted a reception for the Nordic participants at the embassy residence.
The Select USA summit is held annually in Washington D.C. with the purpose of bringing together companies from all over the world, economic development organizations and high-level government officials working to facilitate investment in the United States.
The reception was attended by the Danish and Nordic business delegates from the summit. Ambassador Lars Lose greeted the guests at the residence by stressing that the Nordics has always been a region of great entrepreneurial success with Nordic values and business ideas being viewed as benchmarks for business and societal models around the globe. The region focuses not only on creating business, but also for ensuring that the business is environmentally friendly whilst providing value to society.
Ambassador Lose also highlighted that with opportunities like the Select USA summit, Denmark is able to attract more attention to the great innovative and forward thinking mind-set that many Danish companies have to offer. There are currently 657 Danish companies operating in the U.S creating more than 60,000 jobs across the country.
