On June 3, the Embassy of Denmark in collaboration with the ADBC hosted the annual Danish Constitution Day event at the residence of H.E. Ms. Lone Wisborg, Ambassador to the US.
The Danish Constitution Day commemorates the anniversary of the signing of the Danish Constitution on June 5th 1849, which established Denmark as a constitutional monarchy, and honors the constitution of 1953 which was adopted on the same date.
Again this year, the beautiful residence gardens were setting the scene for this festive evening that honored our brave veterans and celebrated the long standing and close cooperation between the U.S. and Denmark. With over 750 guests attending, Ambassador Wisborg made the opening remarks followed by a heartfelt speech by Secretary of Veterans Affairs, Robert Wilkie. Finally, Chairman of Danish Wounded Warriors and Master Sergeant, Jacob Panton Kristiansen took stage and emphasized our nation’s appreciation of the great service of American and Danish veterans.
Many thanks to the members of ADBC for your support and for attending this delightful evening. A special thank you to Coloplast, Novo Nordisk, Leo Pharma, General Dynamics, Systematic, Terma and Lockheed Martin, who supported the event with additional sponsorships.
