Greetings from the Ambassador

Greetings from the Ambassador

Dear Members of the American-Danish Business Council,

After three and a half extraordinary years in the US, I can now officially announce I will be returning to Denmark on January 1, 2019 to take the position as Permanent Secretary to the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I feel privileged to have been the Ambassador to the US and during my time here, the ADBC has had a particular importance and interest to me. It has been my pleasure to serve as Chairman of the ABDC, and to see the Council’s significant growth, both in number of members and in activities during the period. I believe ADBC has a strong foundation going forward, not least because of all of the members’ proactive commitment to its continued success.

I want to thank each and every one of you for your engagement and contributions. The ADBC has certainly grown to become a vital and instrumental network facilitating collaboration between US and Danish companies. Together, we have been able to advance across multiple key areas within the economic diplomacy agenda, and to create opportunities for several promising strategic partnerships spanning multiple sectors. I am confident we will continue to benefit from our collaboration to advance the agenda of increasing trade and investments between the US and Denmark – an agenda I will also continue to work for in my new position at the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Going forward, I am proud to leave the ADBC in the hands of Ms. Lone Dencker Wisborg and I am certain that she will lead ADBC to even greater accomplishments in the years to come. Lone comes from a position as Chief Operating Officer to the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and has previously functioned as State Secretary for Foreign Policy and as Ambassador to Spain. Lone will officially start as Ambassador on April 1st, 2019. Until then, do not hesitate to reach out to Deputy Chief of Mission, Henrik Bramsen Hahn, who will hold the position of Chairman on a temporary basis.

In closing, I once again want to thank you for all of your contributions as part of the network. Thank you ADBC for long-lasting relationships and many wonderful and productive experiences.
